Each model uses only the finest components and features a fully glazed cab with detailed cab interior and authentic control panel, etched 'see-through' radiator grille and jack shaft guides, flexible brake pipes, scale working screw link coupling and sprung buffers. Fine detail is made from lost-wax brass for strength and accuracy. Motorised with a powerful Crailcrest motor and DJH-transmission and with Slaters wheels. Each model is authentically painted, numbered and lettered and is Ready to Run!

First allocated to service in 1958 in a class of some 230 locomotives the BR03 was widely distributed to most BR regions working hard well into the 1980s. Many remain preserved today.
