This classic first-generation diesel arrived on the scene in 1957 and the survivors were still working passenger trains in 2004, making them the longest serving main line diesels in British railway history. with optional parts to cover the many detail differences and modifications that have emerged over their five decades of service.
The kit will cover loco's built without the roof mounted headcode boxes and numbers include; 31001-31019/31101- 31117/31125/31129/31133-31134/31138 & 31144. As usual the kit features a three-piece alloy body, highly detailed bogie sideframes and brake gear, preformed etched roof panels, fans and engine grill covers, etched window beadings, snowploughs, sprung brass buffers, lost-wax buffer-beam pipework and many other fine detailing parts, including full cab interiors and flushglaze windows. An optional lighting kit is available as a separate item.
