Supplied by makers Beyer Peacock, North British and Henschel in 1954 at an original price of £95,673 the GMA/M’s became legendary to steam enthusiasts the world over. These Locomotives were a modern successor to the GM class with a 150 of them been delivered between 1954-56. The orders were split between Beyer Peacock, the North British Locomotive Co and Henschel.
