K103 - BR Thompson A2/2 4-6-2
These impressive but slightly ungainly-looking engines were a rebuild of Gresley's class P2 2-8-2s into Pacific form. As a small, non-standard sub-class they were among the first of the LNER’s splendid express stud to be scrapped – the last to go was Earl Marischal, withdrawn in June 1961. The kit features a whitemetal one-piece boiler/firebox/smokebox, cast footplate and detail fittings, an etched fold up cab and tender, with etched chassis and 'pre-assembled valve gear'.
Needs Motor/gearbox and Wheelset to complete.
We Recommend DJH AM9 Motor/Gearbox.
