K321A - BR Class 47 Diesel (Serck radiator shutters)
This was the largest class of main-line diesel locomotives ever constructed in Britain, with a total of 512 built between 1962 and 1967. They worked everywhere on every kind of train, from Inter-City passenger services to merry-go-round coal trains.
This kit covers locomotives fitted with Serck radiator shutters – D1807-D1999 and D1100-D1111 from new and D1500-D1806 as modified from 1976 onwards. The kit features a three-piece alloy body, cast bogie sideframes and brake gear, preformed etched roof panels, fans and engine grille covers, etched window beadings, snowploughs, sprung brass buffers, lost-wax buffer-beam pipework and many other fine detailing parts, including full cab interiors. Alternative parts are included to build any of the 47/0, 47/3, 47/4, 47/7 and 47/8 sub-classes. A working lighting kit is available as a separate item.
We recommend Slaters GB13 Motor/Gearbox.
