Designed by F.G Smith following inspiration from seeing the LSWR H15 (K34). Due to a shortage of draughtsmen the loco was drawn by the NB works at Cowlairs for £200. Six locomotives in all were built by Hawthorn Leslie of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne the first being ready in 1915, the last being withdrawn in 1945.

Features one piece cast firebox/boiler/smokebox and a one piece footplate and cast detail parts. Etched cab, tender superstructure, chassis and valvegear. Needs Motor/gearbox and Wheelset to complete. We recommend AM10 Motor/Gearbox. Wheels available form Markits (manufacturer) or Mainly Trains (stockist).

We recommend DJH AM10 50:1 Motor/Gearbox £79.20 @1.03.2021

Markits/Romford Wheelset £66.55 @1.3.2021
