The BR ‘Clan’ 4-6-2 was designed as a medium-weight version of the ‘Britannias’ (see K317A/B) the ‘Clans’ spent virtually their entire lives in Scotland and north-west England and were only occasional visitors to LMR lines south of Crewe.
