All DJH Model Loco kits are designed with an extreme attention to detail and built to the scale of the original model. Our Research and Development team examine archived drawings to gain access to the most intricate details of the original model and replicate this in the model designs – even down to the number of rivets used!
Handcrafted by our incredibly skilled team of modelers, toolmakers and craftsmen, all products are made at our modern factory based in Consett, County Durham. Using high quality materials such as pewter and brass, DJH Model Loco kits are extremely durable and built to last.
Suitable for experienced modelers, our K315 kit is supplied with fitting instructions which details the tools required and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build.
These powerful, compact locomotives arrived on the traction scene in 1960 and are still to be seen on everyday duties with a variety of operators.
This was the kit with which DJH Model Loco revolutionised the construction of fine-scale 7mm diesels. Instead of asking the builder to form the bodywork from flat brass, we provided a single large alloy casting for the main shell and roof, thus eliminating the need to fold up complex, subtly curved shapes and ensuring 100% dimensional accuracy. Other large one-piece castings are used for the cabs.
Our casting expertise also extends to the bogies and fuel tanks all incorporating extraordinary levels of detail while more delicate features such as the bodyside and roof grilles are executed in etched brass of prototypical thickness.
As well as buffer beam pipework, full cab interiors and other fine detail, the kit includes many optional parts to enable the major variants within this large class to be modelled. A working lighting kit is also available.
